Does macombo only flower on new growth? I went a little coco loco and decided to add a macombo to my collection if I can get the seeds to germinate, but I have read that they do not flower on the trunk like cacao but on "thin" branches. What do they mean by "thin"?The pods look substantial.

Pataxte doesnít produce on the trunk but on the branches.  The branches arenít that thin.  The fruits fall when ripe.

If cocoa is an elephant T.bicolor is a giraffe with long weepy branches that can hang down. It is open tall and sparse. The fruit can be on quite thing branches hanging and causing wispy branches to arch.
