ISO Keledang tree or seeds
« on: January 10, 2023, 07:57:48 PM »
Anyone knows where I can get a tree or seeds? I know there are a couple fruiting trees in Hawaii.

Polynesian Produce Stand website offers shipping to US, but I am unfamiliar with the website. Only source I could find. eBay reviews look good.

Good luck

I'm interested in this also, ever since I saw this thread:  https://tropicalfruitforum.com/index.php?topic=5353.0

In my greenhouse I am basically doing an artocarpus trial now, and so far everything is doing really well.  They did poorly in containers for me but once I moved them into the greenhouse dirt they started taking off.

It looks like polynesian produce stand doesn't have them now.  I guess I will try to remember to check back in a couple months

EDIT - I just noticed PPS's prices are insane.  Nearly $200 shipped for a kwai muk seedling?  Under the Similar Items on same page... kwai muk seedling for less than twenty bucks shipped from 9waters.

Yeah PPS was the only current available online source with Keledang, but Kwai Muk seeds and plants are much more common in the US. not something I would suggest purchasing and shipping internationally.

Yeah I check fruitlovers.com seed list regularly but there is a ton of stuff listed there that is never actually in stock even if you watch all year.  Oh well, I'll report back if I see 'em for sale

That is why Oscar is a con artist. He has a ton of stuff listed on his website that he never actually has in stock. Surprising to me that many people have probably fallen for his deceiving ways. I know of 2 people in HI who have fruited Keledang. One of them, Steph , who sometimes posts here says it’s good , but marang is still better. After reading Mike t’s posts before about pruning keledang, it seems it handles a heavy pruning better than marang. Marang is almost impossible to keep small.
