Hello everyone,
I am planning a group order from Andre to order some new seeds. I didn't expect so many people to be interested, so I am making this thread to keep things organized.

Here is the google doc I made with all the seed prices and availibility.
Minimum order of 10 seeds per species - If you want less than 10 seeds, you will need to share with someone else.
Here is how the order is going to go -
-People interested in buying choose their seeds.
-Once deadline happens, I tell seller what we are buying and how many
-seller to determine how much it will be (phytosanitary and shipping and other fees)
-The shipping and phytosanitary cert. cost and fees will be distributed evenly between people buying seeds.
-Costs will be calculated and I will let you know how much you need to pay (seeds you are buying + your share of fees)
-You will pay me, then I will pay seller
-Seeds are shipped
-I receive seeds in US and ship to you.

This is for USA only. (No international buyers)

The advantages of doing a group order is that we all save on shipping and phytosanitary cert. costs as these can be pretty high.
Also the order allows people to buy fewer amounts of seeds while still getting a good deal on shipping etc.

Please post or pm me what seeds you are interested in buying and I'll add you to the google sheets.

Questions, Comments, and other remarks are welcomed below :) .

. The list caps out at 10, after that you will need to communicate with others...Want to share seeds? Try contacting someone on that list. I do not have the time to ship more than 15 packages to different people. If you live near someone on the list, consider adding orders together or getting them to ship to you.

Update 11/25/21:
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Also the seller has sent me a LOT of pictures. I'll upload them tomorrow so everyone can decide.
Once again, if you have not sent me a pm with what you are buying by november 27, you are NOT on the order and will be left off. Sorry for the short notice...but if we take more time deciding, the seeds could go bad, and I still need to collect payment for the seeds also.

List caps of at 10. Please realize that it is first come first serve, unless I have talked with you before, you are not on after 10 people.
Will update list later tonight. Right now there are 8 people confirmed, (1 person is representing a group of others)

Update 11/25/21

Order is finished...This means that I am accepting no new people to the list. People who have already pmd me can change their order.
If you have sent me a pm, you will be added to the list. I will update the list. I need everyone's order by the 27th.

Please read last couple of posts on this thread - I need everyone's cooperation. Thanks for understanding and have a happy turkey day!

Update 11/26/21:
Order is closing I need everyone to review what you are buying before I let seller know. It's getting crazy, so I need all of you peoples cooperation. I'll get back to you if the order is good once seller responds after I send list and will calculate payments. Then we collect payment (Everyone can cooperate please?) Anyway, have a great weekend.

Please read newest post.

We are in the payment stage, I sent out pms to everyone on the order. Best,

Citrus General Discussion / Cold Hardiness of Owari Satsuma???
« on: November 07, 2021, 08:47:51 PM »
I was reading online and heard that owari is can withstand temperatures down to 12f. It rarely goes below 15 here. Does anyone have any experience growing satsumas in a similar climate with no protection? If it is doable, then I will plant my tree in ground next spring.

Tropical Fruit Buy, Sell & Trade / Selling or Trading Grumichama seeds
« on: October 13, 2021, 10:25:19 PM »
I have 20 grumichama seeds for sale or trade. $18 free shipping.

Have 2 community pots of garcinia brasiliensis - superior form of lemon drop mangosteen (garcinia brasiliensis). The fruits are pointed, not round like the regular kind.
They are healthy seedlings and need to be re potted. There are around 12 trees total. Can send them all for $50 including shipping.

Just pruned back my sweetheart. If no one wants them, they going to the dumpster :( . Will be sent in damp paper towels (not gonna waste time wrapping them in parafilm). Shipping is $8 and for all the scions asking $35. 11 scions total size varies from 1/2 of an inch to 1/8 of an inch.

Also have some redlands white sapote scions. 5 for 30 including shipping.

Finally got first fruits on my grumichama! Took a few years of flowering before setting fruit. I love the taste of these fruits. They remind me of a regular cherry. They taste best when red, not dark black/purple.

After up potting some eugenia calycina plants, I realized that I have way too many. These were sprouted from seeds provided by the Plinia Prince (FFF). 8)
Have a nice root system. $3.50 each, minimum order of 6 plants. Shipping and handling fee is $15. Will be sent without pot.
If you want to buy more than 15, I can do a cheaper rate.

I also have some other plants for sale

Chempedak jackfruit hybrid $15 Tastes better than a jackfruit and has very little sap.

Have several Glycosmis pentaphylla plants. $8 each

$15 for 2 rooted june plum cuttings

It's that time of year when the temperate fruit crops are ripening. I am offering to trade these top quality temperate fruits to you people who can't get access to them easily in warmer climates. I will update this thread when I get new things to offer.
Right now I have some chestnuts to trade. I am interested in any tropical fruit, seed, scion, or plant available.
Chestnuts can be boiled or roasted and the ones available at the store don't do it justice. These were foraged by me from a local source. It is a mix of Chinese, Japanese, European, and some unknown hybrids. Taste is sweet and starchy.

These are in high demand and I can't send too many. First come first serve. Later in the season I will have different types of apples and other fruits.
If you don't have anything to trade, I can sell them to you. $25 for a small flat rate box shipped to you. If I don't respond to your pm in a day, I probably did not get it. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Breadfruit growing well in TN!
« on: August 03, 2021, 08:56:13 PM »
Just wanted to share this with the forum. In just a little over a year my breadfruit tree has moved from a 3 gallon pot to a 25 gallon one! Never thought it would grow so fast here.
Picture of when I got the tree may of 2020.

massive root system!

repotting the tree to a 25 gallon pot - august 2021

Pictures of tree now 1 year and 3 months later in a 25 gallon.

Although this tree would have grown 10x faster in a tropical climate, I am still amazed at how well it has grown here.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Garcinia fruit id
« on: May 28, 2021, 03:59:56 PM »
Last year, a nice forum member sent me some of these labeled as bacupari. After some research, I found out that bacupari is a name for many many garcinias. I'm hoping to find out exactly what these are.

Has a large seed and somewhat thick rind. Thanks!

Citrus General Discussion / Costco Dekopon Sumo Citrus Marketing Fail
« on: April 02, 2021, 09:32:40 PM »
Stopped by my local costco and they had sumo citrus fruit on sale. No one was buying them and they were all shriveled up. Bought a few boxes cause they were on sale and suprisingly they were not bad. Too bad that the general public didn't really like the appeal of this fruit. Wonder why everyone sticks to those navels and tangerines from the store that are always dried out. ???
