"Benefits" of unregulated globalizationYes, bringing diseases and pests to where there are no natural controls!
Are either or both trees available? If I was looking for either tree and could only locate, say, a Phoenix tree, I'd choose Phoenix. You can always graft Sunrise onto it.Brilliant! That's the best option. Or graft Phoenix onto Sunrise.
Lady requests and gets 1/2 greenish and 1/2 ripe mangos. It should be the other way around. Ripe mangoes should weigh more because they have more juice!
Lady calls back later after leaving and my wife hands me the phone for the question she has for me to answer.
Do Green Mangos weight more than Ripe Mangos?
My initial thought was I misunderstood as she has a different accent than mine and thus I asked for her to slowly repeat the question.
Nope, it was the same... lol......
What's some you've been asked???![]()

Cherilata place is on the other coast, Fruitscapes. But call them first, their stock is not permanent. It's a peaceful drive across the swamp, could see an alligator if you're lucky.Long drive from Homestead to Pine Island--3 1/2 hours--but you might find mangoes there, too!
Just what I was thinking!Carambola does fruit in shade, but it seems to me that fruits from trees in full sun have slightly sweeter fruit. Maybe it is just perception on my part.Science supports your claim, Stronger light intensity =increased photosynthesis= increased Glucose content in Fruit.
Lara Farms is also in that area. Cherilata isn't listed on the website, but you could message Julian through his Facebook site. https://larafarmsmiami.comMango Men Homestead. https://www.facebook.com/mangomenhomestead/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HD0rRO1bCsI
What plants are you looking to buy?
Thank you! I’ve been hoping to collect a Cherilata tree but I want it grafted on cherimoya so I’m also willing to buy scions. Also interested in other fruit trees too
Figs are great if your soil doesn't have nematodes that attack the roots. I'm not really sure how widespread the harmful kind are in Florida.
I recommend a nice fig tree that you can graft a bunch of varieties on to. They can take the cold and heat.
I grew a black sapote from seedling and it fruited on its own in a few years, definitely does not need another tree to set fruit. I like it a lot but I could see why people might not like it as the flavor is mild and the ripe black fruit is off-putting to some. It tastes nothing like normal persimmon, they aren't really comparable in my opinion.I didn't think that they were similar in taste. I just thought if he's short on space and hadn't planted persimmon, it would be better to go with persimmon, a really outstanding fruit, UNLESS he doesn't like super-sweet fruit.
