Nice selection! I'm eyeing the dwarf orange pitanga...

677
I have some extra bulk seeds I would like to unload. If not, they are going to be planted most likely.
Got 150 biqi yangmei
and probably like 400 oblongata seeds.
Message me your offers.
Best,
Ryan

The price of grafted trees have gone down by over 60% since February. The market for Yangmei is getting saturated; won't be long before all the commercial growers start to purge their inventories to avoid being the last one holding all the sticks.
I wish.
Not easy to source yangmei unless it’s coming from overseas. There’s still high demand, and tell me where you can buy them in the US. Just a few collectors here and there. And even then, many don’t make it.

Hi! If you want to see what's growing on here in TN, I've written a blog post in which part of the post will cover what is happening!
Mangoes, jaboticabas, and yangmei! The other part is more business related.
Thanks for looking!

Hey, it's been a while. I've written this blog post to let you know what's happening in the future.
https://graftatree.com/ok/
There's a lot of good stuff coming in soon...Stay tuned!

Any well draining potting mix should work well as I've noticed. I had one in ground (abiu), but it failed as they clay soil and cold temperatures stressed the tree out. I ended up digging it out.
Realized the soil needs to drain relatively fast.

Mine arrived today. Thank you so much! Can’t wait to try this out!

My australian green from Kaz is doing great and fruited for the first time here. Got distinct melon flavor from it.

Bovine,
your story gets me thinking...I could've remembered that maha chanok was red/orange/yellow. But last year, I've had only yellow ones.
I don't know if I'm tripping - are they one color - or maybe not?

Tropical Fruit Buy, Sell & Trade / Re: Graftatree Custom Merch

Nice. Making prints and shirts is fun. Nice to see you on fire with your ambition and trying to grow up different businesses for yourself instead of working for someone else. Good for you.
the t-shirt press is 3 or 4 color max?
You should do a test run to show off what you can do and test the theory with a good print.
I can't think of a print that would sell off better than Durian .
Thanks for the advice and encouragement! I’ll look more into what model of heat press we will buy.
Can’t forget those durian shirts! Thanks for that idea.

How are you as the middle man, going to get t-shirts printed for 1/2 the cost of a t-shirt printing business?

Where are they getting printed and drop shipped from?
We are not the middle men...We are the producers. Getting our own heat press and supplies.
Nothing better than doing the work yourself.

Tropical Fruit Buy, Sell & Trade / Graftatree Custom Merch
« on: April 24, 2023, 02:58:57 PM »
Hey guys,
graftatree is having another business sector open up, and this summer it looks like it will be merch! We will be making our own custom shirts and hats and other products.
Now, we want to expand that to the community. Have a seed business and want to do tropical fruit tree merch? We got you covered. We can do it for about 1/2 the cost of other providers. Given normally you can find custom shirt for around $14-18 each. We going to do bulk orders only so only orders of above 50 shirts are viable.
We have already talked to several potential people about merch. If you're interested, please let us know.
Best,
Ryan

Lance, you're making me jealous with all those durians!
I gotta make a trip out there.
As always palolo is a great seller.

I have seeds of black walnut.
I can provide you how ever many you want.
Just need to wait until fall when they're ripe.

I'll be honest, I completely forgot about these. I just threw them all into a jar with water. Most of them started to root and a few are pushing leaves.
How's everyone else's doing?

My P. longipetiolatum seedlings are both still scratching green (or at least greenish) low on their trunks (dead above), but no signs of buds yet. It's been a cold winter and cold spring, hopefully it warms up enough for them to wake before they die!

thanks for the update!
I'm planning out a greenhouse for the subtropicals like yangmei and guavas. Longipetiolatum will be one of them.
Unfortunately it doesn't seem like it will withstand temperatures here either in ground.

693
My large lychee tree just has the flowers opening now so it will not have ripe fruits for some time.
Always open to trades from you Kaz! I know the CA ones are a few months behind Florida

Fruit also came well packaged for me. Thank you! Glad to try the fruit; but yeah not my favorite.
Nice to be able to mark this off my list of fruits I want to try.
Seeds in the past took a long time for me - around 6 months.
I didn't bother planting these seeds though.

695
Is it lychee season now?  I just got to FL
Looks to be slightly early.

697
Hello everybody, unfortunately my FL trip this year will be missing lychee season.
Lychees are one of my favorite fruits.
I know the lychee crop season is coming up. For you home growers down in FL, would any of you be willing to overnight me any lychees?
In return, I can send you grafted yangmei plants or jaboticaba plants. whatever you want to trade.
All you gotta do is overnight me a box of lychees.
We can discuss more via pm, but just getting it out there.
I know season has not started just yet.
Best,
Ryan

If you would like some scions, let me know.

Got you on seeds Jaboticaba45.

Found a surprise fruit on my other Psidium sp. 'Green' that's at my farm and is in more optimal conditions. It's super full, bushy and honestly great looking. Fruit pic attached. This fruit is more appealing looking than the one in my sidewalk strip.

Also got a fruit on this Psidium from Marcos. Maybe P. guinense x grandifolium. Flavor tones of banana. Really a good fruit. Left half of it on my tailgate when leaving my farm. Hope its on the ground waiting for my return so I can propagate some seeds. Regardless, I've got about 5 or so planted so should have many fruits soon.  This plant got goph'd about 2 years ago and finally is inching towards recovery after transplant.

Thanks Nate!

I was going to bump this thread, but it seems like others beat me to it!
Check out the first flower opening on my eugeniafolia

(oops wrong picture, those buds haven't opened yet lol. I think there is at least 20 buds on the tree in total. Maybe it'll set fruit.

Going on about USDA...well today I got a package from Indonesia...with my permit...on a completely random package addressed to someone else. Turns out during inspection process, USDA agents took the permit and mixed it up and put on wrong package. Although the package wasn't addressed to me, the permit did so it somehow came to my place. Luckily, I knew the guy it was addressed to and we were able to make things right. Turns out the package was shipped februrary. Still, there was one or two viable durians in the package. Go figure.
