Looking for cold hardy avocado scions
« on: January 22, 2022, 09:04:05 PM »
I am brand new to grafting and looking for several varieties to graft onto my avacado tree.  Really wanting an Oro Negro and what ever other good varieties that I can find. Please help me out!  I have looked everywhere online trying to find budwood and this page was suggested .

i've got brogden. two small trees - one is actually flowering right now. not a ton of extra limbs at the moment, but may be able to spare a cutting or so. i'm over in pensacola. I'm on the lookout for mexicola grande and other mexican/mexican hybrids.

Hi saltwater, my issue is that it is still too early to graft here in N. FL. temps are too cold.
he says his trees are starting to pop already.

Hello, I shipped all the orders Monday and stumped several of the cold hardy trees I had.  They were already just at the end of usable state and buds were starting to pop.  Stumped mexicola, mexicola grande, stewart and a handful of other trees.  Chainsawed them down and painted the stumps white,  Plan to graft guatemalan avocados on them when the new shoots come in.

Here is a good source of hardy avocados.
The owner is very friendly and may have what you are looking for.

I could sell you some Mexicola scions. This tree is incredibly cold hardy - down into the teens.

Theres some setting to make your messages show up as a thread.  You can modify your settings for this and it makes it much easier to message and track what has been sent and recieved.
