Sartre/Arrayan guava
« on: March 22, 2019, 01:00:38 AM »
Has anyone ever tasted this variety?  I have a guava, but it is bland and thinking of replacing it.  A smaller tree is always more welcome, but, I wouldn't want it if the fruit isn't very good.

the fruit is wonderful, however the fruit gets a bad rap because it is so small, more like a berry.                                                               Patrick

Yes sour but great for juicing better than maracuya

Small fruit, used in Mexico to make drinks.  Kind of a citrus taste.  Tree is a somewhat small tree.

Hmm. Depends on which "arrayan." The arrayan I'm familiar with is extremely sour but with a very good flavor. Makes awesome juice if you add enough sugar to balance out the vita c. Fruits are small by guava standards but generally bigger than a golf ball.

Cookie Monster, if it is possible may you please post picture of your arrayan? I am searching to buy an arrayan but not sure what it actually looks like. Where did you buy your tree from?

Thank you!
