Dragon fruit branches are too flat.

My potted DF are all putting out lots of branches, but they're kinda flat and not plump like they're supposed to be. Soil is moist a few inches below the surface.  I'm  thinking of drenching the pots (30 gallon) daily,  but will have to watch out for overwatering. Are flat branches indicative of not enough  water? I use Fox Farms potting soil, these were potted about 6 months ago,  so there should still be enough fertilizers in there.  I can add some Osmocote Plus if you think it's a fertilizer deficiency.

Probably just age, thry take a long time to get big and fat like a few years

They're VN White, and Physical Grafitti . The thing is,  the trunks are normal looking, but the branches up top are not, at least not to me. Maybe they just need time.
