Jackfruit - laying down on the job
« on: June 12, 2021, 09:46:22 AM »
A have a seedling Jackfruit fruiting after several years in the ground.  There is only one problem, the fruit is on the ground and is touching the soil under the tree.  What do I need to do to give this fruit a good chance of reaching maturity.  I have seen pictures of jackfruits close to the ground and I am sure mine is not the first that is actually on the ground, what (if anything) do you do to protect the fruit in such cases?

Put a stepping stone or a scrap piece of wood underneath it where it contacts the ground.
