Mulch on Sale at Lowe's

For those of you who use bagged mulch in your garden (weed suppression, moisture retention, appearance, breakdown into humus), Lowe's has their spring sale going on until April 17.  $2 a bag.

I used to buy a whole pallet (like 63 bags) at a time when I had my old house with 25 fruit trees.  It would be used up by August.

Wood chips are color added.  Will they be okay to use on edible fruit trees?

I never had any issues.  I don't think the coloring contains anything harmful, and it certainly breaks down--oxidizes and is broken down by sunlight.  My trees thrived; the fruit was excellent.  They revised the closing date of the sale to APRIL 13, TOMORROW.  I've already spread most of it (out of 25 bags), and I still have one section left to do.  (I did have to pick out some debris, such as chunks of rubber and plastic and some shredded plastic, so it's not 100% clean.  It smells pretty good, though, like decaying wood should.)
