I have received many inquiries. Please email me directly at biaozhang@hotmail.com with the varieties you’re interested in—DongKui, Black Carbon, Crystal, and Early Ripe—along with your shipping address and phone number. I will check if we can arrange another shipment next week for Southern California.

Please note that we do not plan to get Male trees or Wusu.

Based on feedback , the overall tree quality is better than in all three previous group buys, with the exception of a few individual trees.

Anyone have any recommendation on the type of soil they’ll be using for these new acquired trees?

Some people use a mix of 1/5 coconut coir, 1/5 perlite, and 3/5 original garden soil or light acidic soil, planting it in a 5 to 7 gallon size container. Always keep the pot moisturized.

Wrapping the branches with parafilm is a great way to prevent trees from drying out in the early stages.

Sent out emails to everyone for order confirmation.

12
No more new orders.

Thank you, everyone!

We are finalizing the total number of trees.
We will not be accepting new orders after tomorrow, 2/7/25.

Is there a generally 'favored' variety?(Sweet)
It depends on the variety. Dongkui is considered the most popular and easiest to grow. It produces large fruit with excellent flavor.

hey bill, I sent ya an email couple days ago. I am not sure if you saw it, but I did not get a reply.
Could you please forward that again? I may have missed it.

Hi Bill

With the weather warming up here, I've decided to withdraw my order. I don't think there will be enough time for the new yangmei trees to adjust after the long trip, and I'd rather not risk their health. If you plan for another order winter time I will be in ..

Good luck to all.

No problem! Please send me an email with your cancellation notice, as it’s difficult for me to match it with your email address.

We plan to place the order in the next couple of days, with an estimated arrival date around 2/15/2025.

It's still very cold in the Bay Area. For everyone else, please start making the payment via Zelle or PayPal. The price remains the same at $60. I will send an email to each individual.

The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) announced Tuesday it would temporarily suspend all inbound packages from China and Hong Kong until “further notice.” “Temporary Service Disruption: Effective Feb. 4, the Postal Service will temporarily suspend only international package acceptance of inbound parcels from China and Hong Kong Posts until further notice,”

Anyone know if these grow / fruit in the tropics? Or is more a subtropical zone fruit? Does it require any chill temps?
Yeah probably want to stay away from them in the tropics.
Oscar fruited it in HI, but he barely gets fruits from what I hear.
I mean the seeds can benefit from cold stratification, so its a more temperate/subtropical tree if anything.
But wusu variety is supposed to be good in warm places.
My friends in SFL I am not sure how theirs are doing. But chill hours may be a factor in flowers.
I want to buy two Donkui trees. one is female and one is male
Please send email to me with your order info, and shipping address, phone number, this will help ensure your order is included when we place the formal order.

Yes, replied in email. Thank you!

Normally I reply emails within hours, no more than a day if an order is received.

I had a grafted one in a container that was doing great for months then suddenly declined and died.  I want to try again, including in-ground in my greenhouse.
Any reason why these would not survive on their own roots?

My friend Harvey has achieved a high success rate with his over one thousand trees growing on their own roots. Key factors to consider include soil acidity, moisture level, etc.
Acidity of what and moisture of what? If you have details we would like to know. We all want success. If your friend has any specifics please let us know.

Please email me your detailed question, and I’ll forward it to my friend, hope he would help.

I'm interested in buying 2 or 3 plants.

We have begun collecting orders, with over 100 from the Bay Area, around 50 from the LA area, and additional orders from Florida and San Diego already in.

If you’d like to participate, please email me at biaozhang@hotmail.com with the following details:

    Variety and quantity
    Shipping address
    Phone number (if possible)

This will help ensure your order is included when we place the formal order. Please note that prices may change a little bit if a higher tariff is imposed at the beginning of February.
