jealous of that mango growth !
especially VP.
i just put mine (Florigon) in ground hoping to get a growth spurt
I definitely think its possibly to produce enough food for a family on a lot like this though. If "livestock" wasn't prohibited i would have a great permaculture system going on.
i agree. i get about %10 to %35 of my food from my yard
depending on season. i could increase that very easily.
(lots of my fruit trees are too small to fruit)
Jaboticaba and Jujube are just starting to give me fruit.
in a year or 2 i will have starfruit, muscadines, mango, banana
in 4 years, i will have a LOT more - too much to remember and mention.
i eat a lot of papaya and guava when in season.
gynura, moringa, peppers, onion, malbar spinach etc... ,
for salads and adding to dishes,
i just planted some purple potato. i eat a lot of potatoes...
but i dont know how sustainable they are if i am consuming them
along the way ?
you dont need animals for a good permaculture system.
comfrey, nettle, and yarrow make great mulch and compost.
i have worms that help immensely as well.
chop+Drop and nitrogen fixers... is all you need...
