Mountain sop?
« on: September 05, 2019, 04:17:13 PM »
After the hurricane while golf carting around the neighborhood we came upon a bunch of these. They look like mountain sop. The trees were in a forested area so they are never maintained. They have a faint sweetness, and flowery scent. Don’t taste as good as sugar apples but fun to eat.

These look more like pond apples, not very popular due to their bland taste, mountain soursop is prickly all around. Nonetheless, still a cool find!

Hi Tommy, I've been trying to get pond apples to grow but haven't had any germination success. Could I buy or trade you for one of those fruits? Maybe I could get viable seed that way.  Thanks Dan

If you were close I would give you all on the plate. They grow like weeds here. I really don’t like waiting at the po, but anything neat to trade? I could even try digging up a plant or two.
