I know it's a bit of a gardening question, but it's for tropical fruit trees.
I'm trying to find a good soil moisture sensor that's longer and sturdier than the cheap small ones I see online. I've got clay soil. Even ammended, I imagine it'll break those things in no time. I found a Reotemp model that looks good, but it requires me to wet soil and calibrate the meter to my 'preference'. I don't want preference comparison. I could be wrong, and different plants have different needs. I want fact: soil moisture percentage.
Maybe it's my ignorance of what's possible or available. but Maybe someone knows a good tool to use?
