Strawberry guava not looking good.
« on: September 02, 2021, 10:57:10 AM »
Hi,
The fruits are turning black and the leaves don't look healthy either. Does it look like over watering to you guys?
Thanks.

Is it in the pot or in the ground?
How many hours of direct sun does it get?

My lemon and strawberry guava do really well in their semi shaded location. After acclimation to the location they manage to fruit a LOT without any supplemental watering from me. Maybe too much water?

Thanks for your responses.
The tree is in the ground. It gets a lot of sun exposure, and I suspect that it may be too much sun. Many days over 100 F. I have another tree like this, but in a more shaded location, and that one's all green and healthy looking.

It does look like my lemon guava when it was younger and gets too much intense sun. It needs deep watering every other day when it is above 100 degree and the tree is still young.

Looks like it has more fruit than leaves.  That’s probably adding additional stress to the tree in consistent hot weather.

The plant isnt established enough and is fruiting itself to death.  The sun isnt helping either.
