Babaco Papaya Cuttings to root
« on: January 12, 2022, 09:38:56 PM »
Babaco is a seedless mountain papaya that is seedless and only propagates from cutting’s.
I have some 2” plus thick pieces for $10 a piece plus shipping.
I have a 4 pack of 1/2” thick cuttings for $20 plus shipping.
Roots pretty easily in well draining medium.
Send a PM. Thanks

Does the thickness affect rooting probability?

Definitely they can be too thin and harder to root.
I think the thicket cutting’s will grow bigger quickly and your more guaranteed to get a take

Got my cuttings from Bush2Beach last year and have a beautiful tree holding fruit now-

FWIW I ordered three, stuck them in sphagnum and watered maybe once a week in a shady corner and got 100% take rate- gave the other two plants away though

I sold the 2 cuttings pictured. Trying to decide if I want to chop up another tree to fulfill the requests. Will PM you back. Thank you

This is one of the most cold hard papaya-

survived a dip to 38 while bearing fruit for me last week
