Bill, really not trying to be difficult. I applaud your effort to bring more trees to the community. I just want to reduce confusion about the varieties as much as possible.

If you just use big black carbon instead of black carbon, it will be much better. You don’t have to agree with me on whether Biqi is black carbon, but big black carbon is different from black carbon.

It’s good that you are bringing in more varieties, including “big black carbon”. Wish you good luck!

Beicadad, it is OK. Thank you for all the info and your kindness. To do better job for this community, I am reading many pages and learning a lot of knowledge about Yangmei everyday.

Big black carbon is also called 黑晶 in Chinese, if translated into English, Black Diamond, or Black Crystal makes more sense than using the name Big black Carbon for USA Yangmei growers.

I discussed with the exporter, to avoid confusion, we may replace the variety so called Black Diamond with another variety WuSu, which is a well appraised variety in the Guandong province and widely adapted in many other provinces in China.

Bill thanks for clarification. I also heard that big black carbon is same as black crystal. I didn’t know that you translated crystal 晶 to diamond 钻. I think black crystal as a literal translation is more appropriate. Black crystal is said to have large fruit and is totally legit.

I vote for keeping the Black Diamond/ Black Crystal instead of replacing with WuSu

Thank you Bill. I don't have enough words to tell how much i appreciate your efforts in the last Yangmei order. I will buy again and again from you just for that dedication you put in the details of the shipment and for the feeling of assurance that the trees that will come are healthy and with a more developed root mass and have a higher chance of survival.  Because we have so limited trees, if any here in South Florida, i really do not care what name it gets,  Black carbon or Crystal or Diamond, or even if it is same as Biqi, for now the fact that we can get some trees get going and thriving is more important, so in 2-3 years we can start propagating and distributing scions to everyone here in FL. So, if you can add more varieties like WuSu it is good too, and if you want to keep the Black Diamond there in the list, perfectly fine with me.

I agree with Satya. Even it’s a slight genetic variation for marketing. Well I’m ok with that as well :)More trees the merrier.

Hi Bill,

Last order was awesome!! I think out of the 9 trees I purchased, 8 are already pushing. Happy!

For this order, I'd love:
2 black diamond
2 An Hai

If my last one waiting to push, it's a Biqi, doesn't, I may add one of those. But for nose, those 4 for sure. Thanks!

Hello Bill,
I an interested in ordering some trees and have someone willing to pickup for me but have a question about pollination.... I would like to get dongkui, black diamond and An Hai females but wondering if there is one male that can pollinateeall 3 cultivar or will I need a male of each variety to successfully pollinate them?

All, sorry for the delay.

We have decided to change the name Black Diamond to Black Crystal, and add another variety WuSu, which was a best appraised variety in the Guangdong province, the warmest province in the south of  China. It may grow well in Florida or Houston area, of cause, in Southern California. Good to try.

We may find another vendor for Black Crystal to make sure we get good quality trees.

I will update the order list for everyone after my working hours.

 Thanks, bill

Awesome Bill! Thanks for all the effort you are putting into this group buy. I know it’s a ton of work, especially replying to emails/messages so I hope everyone will continue to be patient. I can imagine the day when we will be doing a Yangmei tasting with fruit from our own trees and you and beicadad will be a big part of the success.
