You mean - for Canary Islands climate, right? Dry hot summer? Then probably
Prosopis species,
Ziziphus species,
Capparis spinosa, pomegranate (if you can keep it small). San Diego has similar climate, except the winter here is somewhat cooler.
Psidium cattleianum or
eugeniaefolium does fine here.
Eugenia uniflora does fine. Guavas do fine but good luck keeping the tree under 4 ft

Pineapple guava (
Acca sp.) does fine.
Dovyalis caffra, hebecarpa , and hybrids do very well here; but again they tend to be larger than 4 ft. Mine got 8 ft tall in 4 years. Another thought is that you may grow plants in pots, this limits their growth to a manageable size. You won't get lots of fruit this way though.
