« on: April 27, 2016, 03:59:53 PM »
Noticed what I thinks  is rates digging up in my potted fruit trees not squirrels since i live in the tropics.
Wood mulch is much too light is ok too use lava stones or marble chips in the po instead
while i try to kill the roddents

Ummm... neither?  I say so because the PO of my house spread lava rock all around the house under the eaves, my neighbor spread marble chips.

They both slid into the dirt and got covered by it leaving behind a rocky muddy mess that not only allows weeds to grow but is near impossible to get rid of without screens to sift it out.

Real mulch works.

Try casuarina needles. The ants stay away from them...  Maybe the rats will stay away as well.😀

We use wood chips in the desert even though we have tons of wind.
