Do tamarillo ripen off the plant ??
« on: October 21, 2021, 12:42:10 PM »
As above, i have those fruit, which i harvested from my plants that i brought inside the basement for overwintering. I doubted that they would ripen on the plants in the dark cold basement ,so harvested them and placed them in a paper bag along with a few apples. Most of them have a tiny bit of colour at the bottoms, some of them have a bit more colour than others, yet some do not have any. I would assume all of them look like the cut up one on inside.

Hi! I think those are too small and green, but if they are totaly formed they will get red inside home.

thanks, i think they got to their full size, the biggest ones are arround the size of large chicken egg. I hope that the colloring inside arround the seeds does mean they were very close to ripening, hope at least half of them to ripen....
