Tropical Fruit Discussion / how would you get rid of wild guavas?

so i finally have land to grow fruit trees but it was full of wild guavas... they have all been cutted down but the main roots are still on the ground.
the plan is to pretty much dig out the new guava sprouts and cover what i can with black plastic.
any ideas?

Tropical Fruit Discussion / is candongo the same as biriba?

i see some online sources that have rollinia mucosa as the same species as rollinia deliciosa?
just had a candongo this morning and i was shocked at how good it tastes...the fruit was smaller and had less sharp spikes/errm no spikes than the biriba pictures i have seen online. more brown instead of yellowish color.
it tasted something like mango and banana with the same texture of soursop...inside about 30 seeds but there was enough flesh so i don't complain.
