Harvested my one and only Kaimana lychee today. I think I can confirm the variety is indeed Kaimana. Took me right back to the lychees I bought in a 5lb bag on the side of the road in Hawaii. Tasting great, extremely juicy, sweet, and very little tartness.

Here's my one and only Kaimana fruit. Tasted terrible. No flavor at all. Probably was on the tree too long.

Looking at these pictures and another thread, I’m not so sure my tree is Kaimana after all.

Hey Max, that doesn’t look like Kaimana to me. It much too bumpy but it could be due to growing conditions.

Can anyone provide a wide angle photo of there Kaimana lychee tree along with the age of the tree and when it was planted in the ground and it's size. All I see on this tread is a photo of on fruit and a small branch. The lack of specific information and vagueness on the tree makes it hard to draw any conclusions. I do not grow this variety but would like to see what the tree looks likes and it's growth habit here in So Cal.

Here's some pictures of my Kaimana branch. It's grafted onto my multi grafted Mauritius tree. The tree itself is 16 years old. The Kaimana was grafted back in March of 2022. It's grown about 4 feet tall and wide. Gets full sun.

Looking up

Max, your Kaimana looks really healthy, just like the rest of your grafted branches.
