What is this basily plant?
« on: October 09, 2025, 09:18:16 AM »
It's not normal basil. It has a different taste. I don't remember if I planned something or if this is an odd tulsi seedling. I'm guessing I planted something, but if that's the case it probably isn't basil at all.

I'm not sure what you have there, but there are a lot of Ocimum (basil) species with a wide range in flavors. That does look like some type of basil.

Looks like Tulsi to me.

I did have tulsi growing nearby last year, but if it's a seedling from that it tastes nothing like the parent or any other tulsi I've tasted.

Has a licorice type smell

Edit: I added that and searched again and I think I figured it out. I think it was anise hyssop. Either I forgot I planted it or it turned up somehow.
